If your on Instagram, I'm sure you would've seen this stunning little palette floating around the popular page. Colourpop have done it again bringing us the ultimate warm toned palette, with 12 matte and metallic to-die-for shadows - this is the Yes Please! palette

At a ridiculously affordable $16usd you can't go wrong adding this baby to your collection. She's an absolute must-have! You can create a multitude of looks with these shades, go all matte with a pop of yellow or take it in to nighttime with some shimmer and deep brown outer V! Or play around with some sunset shades, you can go day-to-night with this palette. Plus it's perfect to travel with, it's compact and thin so it won't take up space in your makeup bag. And because it's so cheap, it's not the end of the world if it breaks in transit.

Every shade in this palette is pigmented, smooth and easy to blend with very little fall-out! The shade "Spoiled" is slightly drier in texture than the other matte shades but still performs perfectly on the eye. The metallic shades are so soft they're almost like foiled shadows. And every shade in this palette is new and exclusive to this palette except for "Note To Self" & "Full Zip" which you can buy in single pans. The pans in this palette are a little smaller than their single shadows - each pan has approx 0.85grams per shadow in this palette, whereas the single pans have 1.5grams of product. Still very good value for what you're paying for 12 shades!

There really isn't anything negative I can say about this beauty, maybe besides the fact it's limited edition -.- just like everything good these days! I really hope Colourpop makes this a permanent item or bring the shades from this palette into singles if we run out of a fave (I can see that happening!) and I hope they make more palettes like this one in different colour schemes for everyone, maybe a cool toned palette? Some silvers, blues and greys? What are your thoughts??

So I can definitely see why people would be doubtful of these blue bears, they look & taste like candy! They literally taste just like your normal gummie bear, but these guys have super powers! Naturally flavoured with berries & citrus fruits & full of effective ingredients such as:

Vitamin A, C, D, E, B-6, B-12

Folic Acid (Vitamin B-9)

Pantothenic Acid (Vitamin B-5)

Biotin

Coconut Oil

Just because it doesn't look like an average, boring supplement with no flavour or colour & housed in a capsule that you buy from your local health shop or pharmacy, people instantly don't trust it works.. I was willing to give these bears the benefit of the doubt, there's nothing wrong with making vitamins fun!

As a hairdresser by trade, I know what hair needs to be strong & healthy & this is one banger of a concoction! Vitamin B-6 is great to prevent hairloss, Panthothenic Acid helps to stimulate hair growth by supporting your hairs natural keratin (Keratin is the protein that makes our hair) & Biotin which is one of the most important vitamins you can take to promote hair growth & these babies have 5000mcg in each daily dose! That's about 6-7 times the amount we need so BOOM long hair! These ingredients don't only result in great hair, but also healthier skin & nails. What could be better?

So on May 30th I started my daily regime of the 2 bears a day, everyday for 30 days.

I made sure to take a before photo the day I started & an after photo. I straightened my hair on both days so I could see the real growth difference & when I put the two photos next to each other, Wow! I'm very happy with the result & growth of my hair. Hair typically grows about 3-4cms a month, I for one am very use to seeing 4-6weeks hair growth, that is the recommended time between hair regrowth colouring, my hair grew about an inch & half! Nearly twice the amount in a month! 

♥RESULTS♥

So here are my results after taking 2 bears a day for 30 days! 

Despite the obvious growth, what I actually noticed was stronger/faster growing nails, naturally glowy skin & stronger, shinier hair at the roots with less hair fall.

I've always had a problem with my hair falling because of all the heat styling & rough treatment over the years, but this is the strongest my hair has been since before I started colouring & messing with it. I'm super impressed & can only recommend you try them for yourself!

There are only 2 downsides to these vitamins & that is if you have coloured hair, you'll need to do the regrowth more often because it grows so fast, & the price.. I'm not stoked about the price, once I paid for shipping, these ended up a hefty $60 NZD, I think that's a lot of money for 60 gummie bear vitamins..But they do work! I guess it just depends on how badly you want to grow your hair, & how much you're willing to spend on doing it

I for one, am going to order more because I love what they did for my hair, skin & nails! I'll be sure to update you guys again when I've finished another month :)

Too Faced Sweet Peach Palette

Swatches & Review

It's finally time to review this baby & show you guys the swatches!

I know it's taken awhile to get around to this palette, I didn't know if it was worth doing when you can't purchase it anymore BUT it's coming back! Hopefully in the next few months this palette will be back in stock & possibly/hopefully permanent to Too Faced Cosmetics! This palette was released mid March this year & sold out like hot cakes in minutes. I was SO lucky that my order went through when the site was crashing, what a nightmare! haha Jerrod Blandino, the founder & creator of Too Faced Cosmetics, has been talking about the hype & demand of this palette & is working very hard to bring it back for us! The packaging is to die for & it legit smells like delicious peaches, but is it worth all the hype???

Lets talk about the quality & shades in this peachy goddess & you can decide if you need it

I'm not gonna lie, I definitely bought this because of the sick ombre packaging! Is it not the coolest looking palette?! I didn't even care what was inside :| haha of course being a Too Faced product, I knew it would have great high quality colours!

I first want to touch base on a few things I saw people say about this palette like "There aren't many Peach shades for a peach palette" or "I feel like it was just thrown together in a pretty package" I totally understand what people mean when they say that, I initially thought the same thing! But when I got it in my hands, the colours & smell - it really reminds me of a fruit orchard! 

There are about 3-5 peachy shades, depending on what you consider "Peach", some creams & golds, a couple of warm mattes, some plummy shades & a random olivey green... I see all kinds of peaches in this palette - Golden Peach, Pink Peach, Bruised Peach, Rotten Peach haha & even the Peach stalk (the green) It screams Peach orchard to me! I think in hindsight it would've made a really nice 9 colour palette, like Too Faced have a few of...but I'm not complaining, I love this thing!

Talk Derby To Me - Matte Black base with Purple Micro-Glitters

As you can see, this palette has 18 shadows! Two more than the other "bar" palettes from Too Faced, which each have two larger shadow pans containing highlight shades. I personally like the larger highlight pans in the other palettes, it's nice to have more of what you use most & you could also use them as face highlights.. But aside from that, lets talk about the overall quality of these shadows! In classic Too Faced fashion, the shimmers/metallic shades are TO DIE FOR - Buttery, pigmented & a smooth consistent blend, Perfect! The mattes are usually a bit dry & take longer to blend out but these are beautiful! "Puree" & "Summer Yum" are both so smooth & blend like a dream in the crease, "Peaches 'n Cream" & "Georgia" are also very smooth & make great transition shades. I only have a problem with two of the shadows - "Candied Peach" & "Talk Derby To Me"..You can probably see from the swatches, they are so dry they swatch super patchy :/ I really liked the look of "Candied Peach" in this palette & it's one of the few Peach shades, I thought they should have worked harder on this one being a staple in a predominantly peach palette..Also "Talk Derby To Me", I'll be honest Too Faced never really make super pigmented violet/purple shades, though "Delectable" is up there! "Talk Derby To Me" is another patchy shadow.. I feel like the matte base is too drying to hold all the glitters, it might work a lot better using a wet brush to apply..

So I guess it depends on whether or not you like the colours & how much you like peaches?

I can definitely use this palette everyday, I can imagine using all of the colours together or with others, I don't think it's too much like the chocolate bar palettes but I don't think it's a must have either!

 I cant wait to show you the fun inside, but first I want mention something..

I ordered my palette the day it was released so I got one of the first palettes made,

everything was perfect except when I swatched the Lipsticks..the hot pink shade was very runny and appeared to have melted..I saw a few people had the same problem so I emailed BH letting them know & they were quick to sort the problem & sent me a replacement palette!

I figure, I don't really wear hot pink & the first palette is still fine for me to use soooo

Nine beautiful, neutral shadows, very Shaaanxo style - mattes, shimmers, warm tones

Love it! I heard a lot of people say it could be a dupe for Manny Muas palette with Makeup Geek, I personally think they're both pretty different but both worth getting! I think it's because of the duochrome shade in both palettes & the similar layout..

This is my first BH palette & I've heard they're pigmented but wow! For the price, these are really high quality & kind of shocked me.. They look quite vibrant in the pan, colours like the mustardy yellow & red brown are very bright in the pan but once you swatch or apply to eyes, the colours soften up & aren't as pigmented as what you see in the pan! This is a good thing, they still blend nicely and you're able to build up the colour. The shimmers on the other hand are as pigmented as they look in the palette, love them! Very soft & buttery

There are 4 mattes & 5 shimmers

Top - Bottom: Matte Cream, Shimmer Pale Gold, Shimmer Rose Gold, Matte Mustard Yellow, Shimmer deep Bronze, Matte burnt Red Brown, Shimmer cool Taupe, Shimmer Duochrome Red base with Green reflect, Satin Charcoal base with fine Purple shimmer.

And on the other side, nine beautiful, creamy lipsticks! Once again all very Shaaanxo, nudes, vibrants & sexy deeps. The colour range is perfect, every colour you could need, it's perfect for travelling! The texture is super creamy (minus the hot pink, that was melted) and OMG hello pigmentation!

I was pleasantly surprised at the pigmentation of the lipsticks, I mean the shadows were one thing but the lipsticks are just as awesome! The last colour is a deep cherry red & swatched slightly patchy but the rest got amazing colour pay off with one swipe. One thing I don't like is having to use a lip brush but I can live with that for the amazing value you get! I love LOVE the fact there is a mirror on both sides of the palette! ;)

I ordered one Aqua Glow Blush in the colour "Shimmering Lotus" - Golden Pink 

This is a stunning coral/pink with fine gold shimmer through it, I die!

I also love the unique packaging, cute plastic pottle with the shade visible & Stilas 

signature gold lid. But what makes it so different is of course, the mesh/netted pot system!

Once opened, shake up the product to release the coloured gel through the sieve.

This will give you a decent amount on the lid & in the pot to use. 

When you need more, simply press down the netting & more will come through! Genius!

can apply more to intensify the shade!

These are long-wearing, waterproof & non transferable.

The formula is lightweight avoiding a cakey powdery effect & creating a natural luminous glow!

As you can see, with one swipe the pigment is there, when blended in more it becomes a beautiful sheer pop of colour.

HOW TO: Look Healthy When You're Feeling Sick

Makeup Tips for a Healthy complexion!

Finally, I'm back in to blogging after a couple of weeks with the flu, &  I picked up a few tricks while trying to present myself for work, or just leaving the house in general at this time.
I think it's important to keep your skin moisturised, especially in Winter, 
and to give some life & radiance back to the skin.

(Products I used & why, listed below)

♥ BASE PRODUCTS ♥

After moisturising my face, I mixed a full-coverage luminous foundation with a illuminating face primer/base to give the ultimate glowy base!

I used NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation mixed with

L'oreal LUMI Magique Base Primer or MAC Strobe Cream

I then go for a highly pigmented & brightening concealer to cover those 

dark, sleepy circles around my eyes! Ensuring it is lightweight to prevent creasing.

Using Urban Decays Naked Complete Coverage Concealer (my current fave concealer!)

Also Benefits Fake Up concealer (surrounded in Vit C & Apple Seed Extract) 

keeps skin around the nose hydrated!

Typically, I would then start using powder products to set, contour, bronze etc, but I found working with more cream products would keep my face looking dewy & prevent enhancement of any dry skin

I Love Soleil Tan De Chanel as a universal cream bronzer to contour & add sunkissed colour!

Benefit Watts Up is a stunning champagne, cream highlighter for the cheekbones.

Cream Blushes! Tarte, Stila, Colourpop, MAC are just a few brands

 with amazing colours & formulas! 

I actually went for a powder blush most days, Benefit Dandelion Blush.

This is a pale peachy pink, Face Brightening powder. This powder has a slight sheen on the skin giving a natural radiance with very subtle shimmer. Love!

Using the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette, I set the oilier parts of my face with "Dim Light" & used "Radiant Light" over the cream bronzer! It gives a beautiful, brightening finish to your complexion when you're sick!

♥EYE PRODUCTS ♥

When you're sick, you feel weak & your appearance can be the last thing you care about! So I like to leave a few unnecessary makeup steps out...

Eyeshadow! I will quickly pop a dot of shimmery white shadow in the inner corner to 

open the eyes & look wide awake! I won't bother doing a crease/lid shade..

Mascara is a MUST to open up the eyes, Benefit Rollerlash is a great option.

Eyeliner is not necessary if you don't feel up to it, I personally don't feel myself without it! 

I go for Maybelline Master Precise Liner, it's a felt-tip like pen & I find it super easy to use!

Kat Von D Tattoo Pen Liner is another easy alternative. 

♥ LIPS ♥

I prefer to go for a simple lip colour, something undetectable that fades off & is easy to reapply throughout the day. Creamy & Moisturising to hydrate your lips if they get dry.

I love my nude shades! Gerard Cosmetics "1995" I'm wearing in the photo above^ It's a rosey brown nude, deeper then my natural lip colour, super easy to wear!

Chichi Cosmetics "O.M Nude" a mauve brown Nude that's creamy & moisturising!

♥ PRODUCT REVIEWS ♥

Hot Candy Eye Shadow 

- "Harmony" $17USD

These are essentially Pressed Pigments, when used with a wet, flat eye shadow brush, it creates a stunning Metallic-like sheen over the lid. Or if used dry, it gives a pop of sparkle on the lid. I was fairly disappointed with this product when used dry, no matter how I applied it, it looked & acted more like a glitter that would not stay or show much colour. I would recommend trying a Glitter Glue (eg. Too Faced Glitter Glue) to help the pigmentation & staying power. I found this product best to use with a wet brush, sprayed with MAC Fix +, it gave the most pigmented look with less fall out. 

Seen on my lid in the pic below, "Harmony" sure did last all day & looked how it did when first applied.

Silky Matte Eye Shadow 
- "Tuscan Sun" & "Fashion Sense" $12USD

These are single shadows in magnetized pans for Palette customization. Infused with Jojoba oil, these are highly pigmented & easy to blend. "Tuscan Sun" is a Deep burnt brown, copper & "Fashion Sense" is a Crisp, vibrant peachy orange. As pictured below, these shadows are larger than your average Eyeshadow pan, this is compared to a MAC single shadow. These can also be used for Blush

 

Red Carpet Ready Blush
- "Treasure" $21

This blush in "Treasure" is a bright orangey melon colour, very highly pigmented & has a silky texture on the skin. As shown in the picture below, this blush has a beautiful, natural sheen to it. But remember to use a light hand, these blushes aren't kidding around with their pigmentation! I love it & need more now! 

Fat Daddy Mascara
- Waterproof Volumizing $19USD

"High definition Mascara that will separate, define & create volume while promoting eyelash growth"
The wand with this mascara is normal length, but thin with short comb-like bristles that coat each lash creating that separated & volumized look while also giving length, which everyone asks for in a Mascara! But, there is one downfall with this product..I found the formula to be very wet, which on the first swipe, lay down too much product creating clumpy, hard-to-define lashes. Also requiring a longer drying time. But the end result is so perfect I think I can get past that ;)

Luscious Lip Gloss
- "Good Girl" $19USD

This is one product I was most excited to talk about, these Luscious Lip Glosses! Let me first say, for a Lip Gloss, I can't get over the pigmentation! The swatch is with one swipe of this lip gloss..you can see for yourself. As for the tacky feeling normal lip glosses tend to have, this product does have a slighty sticky texture but nothing compared your average lip gloss we're used to.

Kiss Me More Lip Cream
- "Sunkissed" & "Runway" $19USD

And this is one product I was initially, very excited to try out! But instead, ended up disappointed with.. I loved the look of "Sunkissed" that creamy peach colour everyone would love to find in a Matte Lip cream product, I thought I'd hit the jackpot with this one.. These swatch & apply beautifully! They look so nice on the lips, until they start to dry..once dried, it starts to crumble off. These do not last very long before, in my opinion, they feel uncomfortable to wear & don't look very good cracking & peeling off on the inner of your lips..At first I thought I got a bad batch with "Sunkissed" so I then tried "Runway" a deep blue red, but this was the same. Something needs to be fixed with the mattifying components in these because the colours are beautiful!

So that is my review & honest opinion on all the Hot Makeup products I picked up.

I was impressed with most of these products & they are amazing, there were just those last few cons I was saddened by because I had looked forward to them the most!

But we will have to watch this space, because I have a feeling this brand is going to explode & take over soon! And who knows what they have up their sleeve for us next...
